Members of the Virginia Tech Semper Fidelis Society went to Cassell Coliseum on 26 April, 2004. There they cleaned and painted the display case for 2nd Lt Cobb, USMC who was killed in action in Vietnam and posthumously awarded the Navy Cross for his bravery.  The citation for his Navy Cross can be read by clicking here . 2nd Lt Cobb was a member of the Virginia Tech Class of 1966 and also a quarterback for Tech. He refused an opportunity to play professional football with the Baltimore Colts in order to lead America's finest into battle. 2nd Lt Cobb is one of many outstanding military alumni from Virginia Tech and Semper Fidelis Society is privileged to help take care of a memorial honoring an outstanding alumni and Marine.
